This past week was all about yoga as we visited the so-called Yogaherbst* in beautiful Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, both situated in Gastein at Salzburger Land in Austria. For us people from mid-Germany, travelling to the Alps is something very special by itself, but having the opportunity to practice yoga in the mountains and at our Impuls Hotel Tirol*, was something very special, indeed. I really love practicing Yoga*, as you all know, but besides many yoga classes, we also had the chance to meditate at the “Heilstollen”, do breathing exercises and lots more like enjoying some wellness in Gastein and having a relaxing and exciting week in general.
And what shall we say? We weren’t disappointed. This week was a very special one and we’ll never did anything like this. We had some unforgettable days about which we would like to talk a bit more in detail in the following passages and if you would like to, you may visit the upcoming “Yogafrühling” (from 21.05. – 01.06.2020) or “Yogaherbst” (from 09.10. – 18.10.2020) in Gastein as well! We would really recommend it!
“Yogaherbst” – Source of Inspiration
But what exactly is Yogaherbst (yoga fall), anyway? Well, together with the Yogafrühling (yoga spring), Gastein offers all those who are interested a special event which takes place two times a year. More than 40 yoga teachers teach over 300 yoga classes in this certain period of time in Gastein and this makes it the biggest event of its kind in the whole of Europe.
You have the chance to try many different styles of yoga during this period of time, train with qualified teachers and experience the power of the mountains through meditations and breathing exercises. At the same time, you’ll be able to relax at the “Thermen” and enjoy some me-time all for yourself. Sounds good? It is!
Our own experiences at “Yogaherbst”
We managed to take part in different yoga courses like “Yoga am Berg” (yoga in the mountains) which offers fantastic views and fresh air, relaxing yoga at our own hotel, hot yoga at the “Alpentherme” and a very special and unique meditation at the Gasteiner “Heilstollen” which took place deep in the mountains.
We also spend relaxing moments at the very famous waterfall of Bad Gastein, did many sauna sessions, had great and healthy food at our Impuls Hotel Tirol and simply enjoyed some very relaxing days.
We would definitely recommend the Yoga days in Gastein to anyone who likes yoga or would like to get to know it in the first place. It was an experience we’ll never forget.
