We celebrate Girlfriends’ Day with Freixenet!
There are so many special days, celebrating someone or something. There is Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Womens’ Day and Lovers’ Day (Valentine’s). But there are also crazy days like Pancake Day, did you know? Quite weird, but fun!
But tomorrow, on the 9th of September 2018, it’s Girlfriends’ Day and isn’t that a great opportunity for a nice celebration? By the way, this day was invented by Freixenet* – of course, as the Spanish with their joyful way of living and celebrating truly know best on that account. And I’m totally excited about Girlfriends’ Day, as it’s fantastic chance to celebrate and say cheers (with a nice sparkling cava) to our besties – after all, where would we be without our best girls?!
Besties can’t be separated…
Our best girl friends, in the best case, live nearby. In that case, you can meet up regularly, talk about all kinds of things (even the shoe-topic, yes!) or cry your heart out when it’s needed. The best friend cares for your pet when you’re away and in return, you care for her plants when she’s on holiday. You cook together, drink a yummy Freixenet together while watching a new romantic comedy on Netflix and you motivate each other to go running at 6 am every (other) morning!
Does the best friendship hold over long distances?
In the not-so-ideal case, your best friend suddenly moves to another city or, even worse, to another country! Perhaps, because she’s got this perfect job offer or met the perfect guy to live with. That’s wonderful for her, of course, but for your friendship, this is gonna be tough! Phoning, Face-Timing and writing letters will help, but it’s still gonna be difficult to keep the same closeness as before.
And so it might happen that you lose each other’s sight, or you work really hard to make this friendship work, even over a long distance. You might meet three or four times a year, for Christmas/New Year’s, for summer festivities and birthdays and every time you meet, you got a million things to talk about which is beautiful. And you can be proud that your friendship still holds. Oh, what a beautiful thing!
In between meeting your bestie, who lives so far away, you can simply surprise her from time to time. How about a cute little package which she doesn’t expect at all?! You could put a cute card with some lovely, personal words inside, a bottle of sparkling Freixenet (and pack it well, so it won’t break on the postal way), some paper cups and straws that will remind her of the last summer party you two held together, and also you’ll need to pack some of her favorite sweets! Believe me, this package will be the most wonderful surprise and it’ll be only a matter of time until the package arrives and she’ll call you on the phone for another endless, beautiful conversation.
More surprises for Girlfriends’ Day?
