A Summer Coat For The Grown-Up Bohémienne

Typical for the Bohémienne? Perhaps that artists’ coat.

Ideally, she carries a book by Barthes, Rimbaut or Bukowski along with her. She can’t imagine anything worse than simply sitting in her café and watching the people walk by. The only thing she detests even more is people staring at their phones constantly. Instead, she believes in chance meetings and loves listening to strange stories by people she only just met. She soaks up those words like tourists in Spain soak up the sun. And while she’s listening, she drinks black coffee and calls it breakfast – at high noon! She loves the big city. Living in the country would be unthinkable for her as she needs the chaos and the craze to keep her focused and bright. She isn’t rich but she takes her time, enjoys the day and is full of ideas, theories and opinions that are hard to surpass. That’s her, the modern Bohémienne.

My sweeties, why am I telling you all this? Well, it really came naturally as this light, soft summer coat is the ideal artist coat for me. And when I think of artists, Paris comes to mind and with it the life of the Dandy that I adore so much. I mean, I know they were not always very well thought of, but isn’t it such a nice thought to mainly think and discuss poetry and the beautiful things in life? I think to a certain level, we could learn something from the old Bohemians – “La vie belle”, yeah? For me, the modern Bohémienne is a role-model, something I feel I already have inside of me and that I actually am to a certain degree, but also something that I’m dreaming of becoming. In a dream world where croissants and coffee are actually for free and you don’t need to pay taxes, bills and rents. Oh well.. still, it’s a romantic and nice thought.

But isn’t this coat just so perfect? It will be my go-to summer coat for cooler nights or not-so-summery summer days. It feels so soft and looks so elegant while it’s still really relaxed. And along with that, I made a little DIY with my new jeans. It took me about 2 hours to sew on the pompoms, but it was worth every minute of it. I feel like the jeans was the perfect basic piece for this little customization.

What do you guys think of today’s outfit? How do you like my new coat? And what do you think of Dandy lifestlye? Can you relate to that or not at all? I’d loove to know!
