An autumn look, inspired by the British squirearchy.
My sweeties, first of all, a big thank you all around for the numerous feedback you gave me on my latest post – I was so happy to read that many comments!
But now, to the subject, because stirrup pants are back! Yes, exactly. My mom used to wear them back in the sixties with bow blouses. And now I’m seeing them everywhere again, even at the high street shops. And somehow, I love this trend and anyway, I had to try how they look on myself. Now that I did, I have to say, a little riding style attire is pretty damn good, isn’t it?
Because that’s what stirrup pants remind me of the most – the upper class English country royalty that meets on Sundays for drag-hunting. No foxes to be harmed, please. Because the idea behind stirrup pants is of course that they don’t slip up inside your boots and thus make riding incredibly uncomfortable. Nowadays, riding pants are fixed with a velcro fastener, but back in the day, it used to be stirrup rubber. How times are changing…
I’m wearing my stirrup pants in a fashionable way over my shoes, so that you can actually see the nice detail. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense to me. And thus, I combined my pants with cute pumps, a wide blouse and threw over my biker jacket to give the look a bit more rock’n’roll. The Gucci belt suits my Havana-style sunglasses and the Chanel 2.55 Double Flap bag looks perfect with my pumps. I think the complete look is such a nice mix of classic and cool, what do you think? Only one question is left to be answered at the end: where is my horse??
