Allez, tout le monde vient vite! La grenouille verte est de retour! Oh yes, there we were again with our French, green frog. After we had fallen for this rallye last year (you may read last year’s article here), we couldn’t wait to take part in the Radisson Rhein-Ruhr-Rallye, which took place on the 24th of August 2019, again. Somehow, we particularly like this rallye because all participants are so nice, the cars are fantastic, the team that plans everything from the roadbook to the course, does a fantastic job and the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Düsseldorf* perfectly takes care of all the rest – from breakfast to the party at night.
Very different from last year, we totally knew what we were up to this year. We knew what we were supposed to do, what tasks awaited us and how to deal with them. There was much less nervousness involved this time around and Max and I were a great team, again. And because we had so much fun doing this rallye last year, we couldn’t wait for this year’s to start.
The weather on rallye-day was fantastic as it was a hot sunny summer’s day. Luckily, our Citroen dealt really well with the heat and literally no breaks in the shade, so that we had a perfect drive without any technical difficulties. Alone for that, we should have given our green car a medal. It was just so much fun driving it around the track through the Bergisches Land.
Anyway, this is the best way a rallye could go, so fingers crossed this rallye will happen again next year because if it does, we will certainly be part of it again!
How do you like our impressions from the rallye and have you ever taken part in an oldtimer-rallye yourself? We’d love to read about it in the comments!
