PS: Ich liebe Dich. Design meets Engineering in Dusseldorf

Pininfarina, Bertone, Vignale, Ghia & Zagato

Have you ever heard these names before? No? Yes? Maybe? These are some of the most influential and inspiring automobile designers of the past century. And the Museum Kunstpalast in Dusseldorf has created an exhibition celebrating a century of automobile design. They named it: “PS: Ich liebe Dich”.

30 selected design objects are shining and sparkling in this exhibition as if the past 60 years never happened. From Aston Martin and Ferrari over Mercedes-Benz and Porsche up to BMW, Facel and Lamborghini, they’re all there in all their glory.

First practical – then beautiful

When they first saw the light of day, these cars were mere every-day objects that, over the course of time, grew to become beloved objects by designers and owners. A reason for the very high prices of some of these models (a Million Euros? For sure!).

The dominance of the line

As you all know, Ricarda and I are big fans of the design of past decades. We are especially in love with the design of the 1970s, though. In this century, the designers felt the necessity to apply the rationality of the architecture onto automobile design. Everybody suddenly wanted clean, aerodynamic design instead of round, balloon-like shapes. Minimalism became key.

Please, do dream

For all of you guys that are invested in living design, this exhibition ist simply perfect. Even if you’d think that having look at 30 cars wouldn’t take very long, this exhibition offers lots of impressions thanks to an audio guide and enough spaces to sit down and admire your favorite model for a while or have a look at the catalogue.

The exhibition is running untli the 10th of February 2019 and costs 14,00 € (discounts may apply).

Die Fotos, vor allem die von den Details, sind hervorragend. Mit welcher Kamera u. mit welchem Objektiv hast du diese sehr stilvollen Bilder eingefangen? Über eine Antwort würde ich mich sehr freuen.
