“Tonight, I’m a rock’n’roll star…” at the latest POP IMPRESSION installment.
Music plays an important part in our lives and we talked about it many times on this blog – even though this is of course a fashion blog! But when you come to think about it, music and fashion are in fact very closely connected and have been for a long long time.
Just think about the Beatles and their typical grey suits and mushroom-head hairstyles from the early days or the Sergeant-Pepper-Looks from their later career. Or think back to the Rock’n’Roll kids with their leather jackets, the hippies with their flared jeans or the punks with their checked trousers. There are endless examples of fashion and music going hand in hand, I’m sure you’ll find many.
But how does this topic of music & fashion go together with today’s blog post topic “POP IMPRESSION – FESTIVAL*”? Well, naturally, in this concept, fashion and music meet in a beautiful symbiosis in the third installment at Peek & Cloppenburg (There are two independent companies Peek & Cloppenburg in Germany with their headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. This is a blog post released in cooperation with Peek & Cloppenburg KG, Düsseldorf. Its store locations can be found on peek-cloppenburg.de.) After all, there is a reason for the existence of a style called “Festival fashion” which includes all kinds of styles like hippie-dresses, Wellington boots, denim shorts, leather jackets and so much more. Festival style crosses borders and brings people together in dancing and singing, which is the most beautiful thing, isn’t it?
I’m especially excited about the choice of brands for this third installment of POP IMPRESSION, which you can discover at Peek & Cloppenburg in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main and Vienna until the 22nd of July 2018.
The dress which I’m wearing in this outfit is by a brand called Free People. I really love this brand and have been for many years, but it is kind of hard to get my hands on in Germany. That is why I was also really happy that POP IMPRESSION is offering a good selection of Free People dresses for the FESTIVAL edition.
The brand Hunter is another favourite of mine. I have been wearing their Wellington boots for many years, silently wishing they’d make me look a little more like Kate Moss back in the day when she was stomping around Glastonbury, arm in arm with Pete Doherty while looking utterly gorgeous and so very rock’n’roll. Such a long time ago…
Almost as long ago, we did see the day that Oasis had split and Liam Gallagher found his own fashion label called „Pretty Green“. This label is a mix of Britpop-style parka fashion and hippie-inspired patterns. It is indeed a very good mix and perhaps even better than is solo music.
For the third installment of POP IMPRESSION, you can discover the following brands:
By the way, on the 14th of July, Max and I will visit the Open Source Festival here in Düsseldorf and we’re really looking forward to famous bands like Tocotronic, but also newcomers like Stillia, a young band from Manchester which is supported by Liam Gallagher himself. And of course, we’ll be wearing our festival outfits that you can see in today’s post.
What do you think of the new brands at POP IMPRESSION and of our outfits? We are really looking forward to your comments and also, do let us know which festivals you are still planning to visit this summer?
