It is September and the warm sun rays still warm up our skin nicely. During this time of the year, the days are still long enough for a romantic picnic in the city at our favorite spot near the harbor with a perfect view of the sunset. And this is what we did the other day…
So on that day, we packed a small basket with some good food and the Portuguese Mateus* Rosé wine – our currently favorite rosé – and hop on to our bikes. Now, it’s the perfect time of the year for these kind of dates as the air feels beautiful, warm and yet refreshingly cool as the sun starts to set. And so we enjoy these special, last summer moments with all our senses as we know the days are few until autumn comes.
Cheers to those late summer days
Having arrived at the harbor, we spread our blanket and take a comfy seat. Our picnic is made of fresh bread, fruity grapes and hearty cheese – the perfect combination which supports the fresh and pearly rosé by Mateus perfectly. But this rosé suits all meals, really and also works very nicely as an aperitif for a lovely evening with lovers or friends. Of course, it tastes best when it’s nicely cooled.
And so, with the sun on our backs, we raise our glasses to this cool, sparkly Mateus Rosé and to the last summer days – may we spend them in the way that makes them last in our minds for a very long time.
How are you spending your late summer days? And did you ever try Mateus Rosé wine? We are very much looking forward to your comments!
