A blue and denim look on the streets of New York.
My sweeties, today, I’m showing you one of my favourite outfits for warmer spring weather (so not for now as it’s gotten really cold again). But during those few warm days in New York, this look was just the right thing to wear.
You’ve probably seen these denim culottes somewhere before. Max also kinda sweetly calls them pirate pants, but I find them so lovely and perfect for springtime. Anyway, I’ve totally fallen for fringed and frayed denim. The detail just makes the whole jeans thing much more interesting. Also, Jane Birkin, my biggest style icon in the world, used to wear frayed jeans even back in the 70s. And what she does must be right, hehe. No, I just really love the look. I’ve combined the culottes with a wide cotton top which gives the look a slight French touch which I love and some luxurious details. Of course, for wandering the streets of New York, flat shoes would be better, but that makes this look such an easy one for transitioning between day and night. Just wear some flats during the day and then switch into heels for a fun girls’ night out – so easy!
By the way, the Flatiron building is one of my absolute favourite buildings in Manhattan. I find it much more exciting than the Empire State Building for example. I just love the architecture of the Flatiron. As if a big ship got stranded in the street. Lovely, isn’t it? And so beautiful!
How do you like my outfit today? Would you wear it, too or is there something you dislike and would change? And what is your opinion on frayed and fringed jeans? Let me know!
