Sometimes, you have to deal with things you didn’t expect at all…

So, the other week, I finally decided to “keep calm… and buy the shoes” that I had been watching for weeks. I had them in my shopping basket for so long and couldn’t get round to decide whether it would be okay for me to buy them…

After all, we’d just bought an oldtimer, a green Citroen CX from the year 1978 and we’re basically investing all our money in that car right now.

… but finally, I bought the shoes and I was so so happy with them. They’re beautiful, grown up, elegant and french chic. I adore them and when they finally arrived at my doorstep, I knew I had done the right decision. They were even more beautiful in real life than I had expected.

Bad luck, though!

Until Berlin Fashion Week last week. I had only worn the shoes twice before last week but when I did a wrong movement with my legs, the upper strap of the left shoe simply tore and I was standing there, baffled…

Which was simply bad luck. It wasn’t more than that, to be honest. Some people have real problems, I have a torn strap. Sorry, not sorry, though because I got quite angry at myself. I had invested a good amount of money into these shoes and then, bam!, they were broken. I really couldn’t believe it and I did have to walk in these shoes for the rest of that fashion week day, too…

Funny solutions…

But as I’m always looking for a proper solution for any problem, I did not miss the first show but kept walking (it must’ve looked like I had a broken leg) in that so-called sandal. But straight after the first show, I went to the nearest shop and bought some tape to stick the shoe to my foot!

In the end, I really had to laugh at the absurdity of the whole situation, but in fact, the tape did stick and hold and I was able to walk around in those broken shoes all day long. Pretty good, huh?

But now, I have to look and see how I’ll continue with these shoes. Will I have them repaired or will I send them back? I’m still not sure… anyway, the shoes in this post are of course said sandals – before they broke!

Outfit:

What would you do? Try to get the shoes replaced or go and have them repaired by some specialist? I’m really looking forward to your comments!

Ohhhh nein.
