Or: How important optical (reading) glasses really can be.
Yeeehhhsss, I know, I’ve been talking about this topic for over two years already. But honestly, I feel like I can never stress enough how big the difference can be between wearing glasses and NOT wearing glasses – even if you only have slightly low vision. Of course, one tends to ignore or forget wearing those glasses if in your everyday life, you are not much impaired by your low vision. It doesn’t make much of a difference is what I kept telling myself. Well, HA HA! Because every time I did put on my glasses, the effect was incredible. I could see details I’d never dreamed of seeing. And I always kept telling myself that from now on, I’d never forget my glasses again… well, you can imagine what happened.
So, to make a chance, I decided to go for new glasses – just for motivational reasons and also, I went to check at the optician if my low vision had changed in any way. After that, I was really excited to order my new glasses and wait if that would finally make me want to wear glasses on a daily basis!
I went for a minimal, black model by Bvlgari – a model of which you can find very many similar ones over at Mister Spex to find your ideal glasses. By the way, I myself found my new glasses because sweet Nisi from the blog Teetharejade gave me the chance to try on hers (she’s got the same model) and after I had tried it on, I was sure that these glasses looked perfect on my face. Now that I have my own ones, I’m truly happy about the weight, the fit and the overall look.
What do you guys think?? You like my new glasses? And have you experienced something similar – for example, that watching television with glasses makes SUCH a difference?? It’s amazing, but before my glasses, HD TV channels really made no sense for me. Now, they do, hehe!
