I just love enjoying the good things in life, it’s just the way I am. Scents, fabrics, things that please the eye and, of course, food. I just love enjoying good food! So, no wonder, my favorite part of the festive season is all the numerous Christmas dinners and I love creating my own ones, as well, of course.
From planning a menu to writing the invitations and of course to planning the festive table decor, everything has to be perfect. And because some of you might feel the same, I have collected some inspiration on how to create the perfect Christmas dinner table. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do!
So, first of all: I don’t like kitsch! For me, it has to be elegant, festive and yet minimal and basic. I don’t like twigs of fir, typical shiny Christmas balls or golden glittery reindeer figurines on my table. I like my table decor to be more taken back, more subtle…
I like to use fresh eucalyptus in a beautiful vase, marble elements, a rough table cloth, elegant glasses and plates inspired by handmade-items and nature. I like the mix of down-to-earth style and festive elegance a lot. You can turn your table decor more festive by adding some golden elements like napkins. And of course, we’ll need candles for our Christmas dinner table setup! I like to use scented ones like those from Diptyque!
I found the most beautiful decor items at the newly opened HEMA* store in Düsseldorf, this year, by the way. They have such lovely pieces for small money!
So, now that the table is all set, I also need to look a bit more festive, so I chose a festive outfit by Jake*s* to go along with my table decor for a lovely Christmas dinner with friends.
How do you like my decoration and how will you style your Christmas dinner table? I can’t wait for your comments!
