You can’t fight hate with hate.
Hello my dearies, how have you been? I have to say, I’m still feeling numb and allowed my little blog-break to last a day longer than planned. One more day that was definitely needed for thoughts, sadness, questions, anger and lack of understanding… yeah, that one day was important for me. I couldn’t just keep going as usual. I also cancelled my planned trip to Paris next week, because I couldn’t stand the thought of enjoying a nice time in a place where only a few days before, people had to face the most horrible terror. I’d feel the same about a trip to Beirut for example, it’s not only about Paris. But the fact is, that I’m travelling to Paris the most in Europe. But this time, I couldn’t settle the trip with my conscience.
In fact, it won’t continue business as usual from today on, either. But it is true that if we give into terrorism now and say that nothing will ever be the same again, if we live in fear and hate from now on, we actually help the terrorists and confirm their terrible ways. Life will go on, but something is different: people have remembered their love and hope. They have also remembered kindness. And that is a beautiful thing. Perhaps the only beautiful thing that came out of this. “An eye for an eye makes all people blind in the end” was a clever, but very true sentence I stumbled upon somewhere in the depths of Facebook during my researches last weekend. Also “You can’t fight hate with hate” is just the blunt and simple truth. Let’s prove with our love that there is yet another world. A world far away from hate, anger, retribution and suffering.
Oh yes, and despite all that has happened, there are still some pretty things that are worth showing. I know, it’s a bit harsh to change subjects like this, but these Sacha booties are just too nice to be neglected. Have I ever told you how much I love shoes from Sacha? I’m always so amazed by their shoes, by the quality and the comfort when wearing them. So soft, so well-done and these grey beauties are even quite comfortable, despite the mid-height heel. So, yes, perfectly suitable for shopping or going out, even. I combined the booties with a lovely everyday-outfit: the softest blue knit, comfortable boyfriend-jeans and a super cute detail: the lace blouse that peaks out at the hem. I love details like this so much – how about you? Do you like the look?
