Château d’Estoublon

Ad: Press visit

The best comes last – as well all know – and so it happened to be during our road trip through the South of France as well! After many impressive hotels and Châteaux that we visited during our trip, we finally arrived at Château d’Estoublon* and found ourselves as close to heaven as never before in our lives. There are only few places that felt as close to paradise as this one, perhaps only “Les Sources de Caudalíe” and “Les Prés d’Eugénie” do come close. But yes, these kind of places are rare and deserve special attention which is why we took our time with today’s article to give you the best impression possible of this Must-Visit place in Provence…

The Château

Nestled into the soft hills of Provence, you’ll find this completely renovated Château from 1489 welcoming you with high class charm. On over 1500 m2 spread over two floors, you’ll find luxury at its finest and feel like royalty right away. 10 rooms and suites offer room for 20 people max. but when we stayed at Château d’Estoublon, there was only one other family that we shared the whole place with. This made us feel like we almost lived here – so private, yet perfectly looked after with a discrete but wonderfully warm and charming service that leaves nothing to be wished for.

Of course, our Citroen felt at home at this wonderful place as well and did blend in with the surroundings quite nicely…

The Pool

Just like the whole place, the pool area is something else at Château d’Estoublon. You cannot only relax in the sun while feeling completely private, you can of course have a cold drink or two, take a dip in the lovely clear water and enjoy some tasty cake. No, you can also have your breakfast, lunch or dinner by the pool – is there anything more romantic?! We were completely smitten when we were offered to have our dinner by the pool – one of the most romantic things we ever did in our life! We could even connect our playlist on our phone to the sound boxes placed all around the pool area to play our very own music during our very private dinner. What a special, unforgettable moment! Of course, our little dog Rudi was also truly happy to spend his whole day running around the green grass of the pool area…

The Food

As lovely as the whole place presents itself, you would think the food would have to be wonderful, as well. And yes, we were not disappointed by our meals which were all absolutely perfect. We had our meals in different places around the premises: behind the Château with a view of the vineyard and our car, by the pool, under the veranda and all the time, the food was absolutely wonderful, fresh and delicious.

The only thing better than the food was the food combined with the wines from Château d’Estoublon’s own production. The Rosé was incredible and went so well with all kinds of food and the white and red ultimately ideal for fish and meat courses.

Château d’Estoublon also makes a world famous olive oil which we got to try with all our meals ans we have to say, the olive oil deserves all the prices it has already won. It is fresh, fruity and ideal with all kinds of meals. We were so happy to take some bottles of olive oil (and some Rosé wine) back home with us… but of course, it always tastes best when you are there…

The Suite

Of course, we cannot talk about Château d’Estoublon without mentioning our incredible suite! Everything in there is royal, baroque and wonderfully curated. Two rooms on the “bel étage”, one bedroom and one living room with fireplace, a balcony, a bathroom and the cutest balcony turned this suite into perfection. We surely wanted to move in right away and our little dog loved the soft and cozy chairs as well.

If you’ve ever wanted to feel truly royal for a night or two, there is no place we could recommend more than Château d’Estoublon…

The Restaurant

Even though we didn’t have dinner on the terrace of “La Table D’Estoublon” itself, we did enjoy their cuisine so much, as we already mentioned above. The food was marvelous, so well put together and simply delicious. And even if you don’t stay over night at Château d’Estoublon, you can still enjoy the great food by booking a table for dinner at their own restaurant. We did see that many guests of the restaurant came in the afternoon/evening for their dinner at “La Table d’Estoublon” and to visit the Boutiques, where you could buy the wines, the olive oil and some other lovely Provencal things for you to take home.

There is simply no place like this one and we recommend it to anyone who loves luxury as much as we do! We will definitely come visit again, Château d’Estoublon
