It doesn’t necessarily have to be fir tree…
My sweeties, to be quite honest, thanks to all our travelling in the past months, I’m really not in Christmas mood right now. I’d rather chill by a pool, gin and tonic in hand, and enjoy the warmth of the sun than to drink mulled wine, talk through snowed-in streets and watch all the lights on the Christmas trees. It’s nice and all, but I’m just not feeling it this year.
And still, I’m trying to deal with these short and dark days and to make the waiting for spring and the next travel a little bit more bearable: by using scented candles.
And even though this article might look like it’s sponsored by Diptyque*, it actually isn’t. Max and I simply love this traditional French brand very much (and are, indeed, very happy to receive a sample candle from time to time) and always keep the empty candle glasses to use them for something completely different.
So this year for the Christmas season, I’m ditching the fir tree and simply created some beautiful floral bouquets. Together with the scented candles, this gives a lovely warm feeling around the loft and this is completely enough decoration for us. Minimalist and beautiful, just the way we like it! We’ll leave the Christmas decor overload to other people.
