Sometimes, the beautiful lies so close to home. By plane, we flew from Dusseldorf to Bordeaux in just 1 1/2 hours, then we rented a car and drove it another 1 1/2 hours down south. We passed the “Landes”, the regions south of Bordeaux, some beautiful forests, lakes and vineyards with their stunning chateaux. This drive was simply beautiful and would only have been better with our Citroen CX, but we have planned our dream road trip through the South of France for next year and it’s definitely gonna happen.
When we finally arrived in Eugénie-les-Bains, we were welcomed in the most lovely way to the park-like area of the simply breathtaking Les Prés d’Eugénie – Michel Guérard*. This hotel is part of the world famous “Relais & Chateaux” and still, we couldn’t have believed what a beautiful place this would be and how it would keep us speechless during our whole visit! You’d have to see it to believe it, really. It is a true paradise with blooming gardens, different restaurants (the main restaurant of chef Michel Guérard even has got three stars in the Guide Michelin!), a pool and a wonderful thermal water Spa in which we got to float in a white clay weightless bath!
Today, we would like to introduce you to this oasis of calm and content, this garden of Eden which became real in Eugénie. And only if you visit this magical place yourself one day, you’ll understand our deep love for it. This trip really made us fall in love with the South of France even more and we really recommend a trip down here to Eugénie to anyone who loves the beautiful things in life just as much as we do.
Because the things our pictures can’t make you feel are the scents of the roses, the cool, clear air in the mornings, the song of the owl at night and the calm that grows inside of you while you are spending your days here. If you should ever come to Eugénie yourself, you’ll feel the love and friendliness of all the people that pass your way and you’ll be happy to greet every one with a happy “bonjour”. It just comes naturally here. When you’re staying here, you won’t “walk” anymore, you’ll “promenade”, you won’t “hear” anymore, you’ll “listen”, you won’t “eat” anymore but you’ll really “dine” and enjoy. This magical place will, or so we believe, change something in everyone that comes here. It will make you come closer to your inner self and to nature while still enjoying all the luxury that you can ever imagine. A true paradise.
What’s your favourite kind of holiday? Would you love Les Prés D’Eugénie just like we did? I can’t wait for your comments!
