And you’ll really only need to follow these simple tricks
My sweeties, finally, I have a new outfit for you all and it’s also the first one in the new year – exciting! We took these pictures in sunny Dusseldorf, in case you were wondering where the snow was, hehe. I don’t mind the missing snow in the west, though, it’s much easier to walk around in heels like this.
You know, a while ago – actually, around 2 years ago – I decided that I needed to update my wardrobe habits. I used to wear a lot of different styles and colour schemes, went shopping a lot and often, all those pieces didn’t really want to mix and I had many moments of “I don’t have anything to wear!”. When I decided to go for a cleaner, simpler style, I mainly wore only black at first. But as time went by, I discovered that a straight, minimal style could also be accomplished by mixing and matching brighter hues. By now, I love to combine jeans, white shirts and knits, maritime and French style, a lot of navy, grey and nudes. All those colours together with clean cuts can super easily be combined among each other and that makes dressing up in the morning so much easier – I can tell you!
But when you don’t own that many pieces of clothing anymore and combine the same items over and over again, you can also easily get bored. A simple everyday-look can soon feel uninspired, so how do I keep my simple looks exciting enough for myself?
1. I like to style a simple look with one true eye-catcher. In today’s post, it’s the super amazing heels in silver and black – they make the whole look so much more special!
2. I only wear high quality (designer-) bags and my outfit looks much more special and expensive because of that. Maybe it’s only me, but I believe that a well-made bag feels and smells so much better, lasts longer and leaves much more of an impression.
3. If I need to wear a big knit piece (because baby, it’s still winter outside), I like it to have a special little eye-catcher. In today’s outfit, that’s the pretty lace-detail on the pullover, but I also like colour-blocking and zipper or lace-up details on knitwear. Little details make your clothes so much more exciting, don’t they?
How do you make your everyday-outfits more exciting? And how do you like my outfit? Have a lovely weekend, ladies and gents!
