We’ve got #ChristmasCovered by living the true spirit of giving.
My sweeties, in collaboration with mobile phone accessory brand OtterBox*, this year’s Christmas is all about giving the perfect present in the most perfect way. OtterBox and I have been getting together on this lovely project, to celebrate the idea of #ChristmasCovered and to make this year’s celebrations truly special.
And as Christmas is already waiting around the corner, it’s about time that we listened to our hearts and asked ourselves, which people we would like to see smiling of happiness, just because we considered giving them an extra bit of love – and a small, very personal gift.
Initially, I started thinking about which gift would be the most personal I could ever give. And it came to me, all of a sudden: a very special portrait. An illustration I made of the person I wanted to give it to. I’m pretty decent at drawing and illustrating, so my talent wouldn’t be wasted anymore by not having enough time to draw. No, this perfect little gift would make anybody smile. I mean, who wouldn’t want to receive a hand-drawn portrait of him or herself?
So I did just that. I sat down and drew five portraits of the five girls that I wanted to surprise this Christmas: Seyma, Leticia, Steffi, Vanessa and Lisa. Five very sweet, beautiful ladies who read my blog, who do extremely creative things themselves and that truly deserved the perfect present, gifted in the most perfect way…
Thus, I also came to create very beautiful, minimal wrappings for the gifts which I’m gonna show you the day after tomorrow. I decided to only use natural material and make the wrapping truly unique, minimal and somewhat Nordic. But you’ll be able to discover the whole DIY on CATS & DOGS very soon!
To make the present complete, OtterBox* sent me five perfect phone covers, a stylish and secure home for any smartphone or tablet, as gifts for the five girls. I carefully chose each phone cover for these five very different personalities. Red, black, clear or grey… as individual as the girls themselves. These OtterBox covers, together with the personal illustrations I created, turned each gift into the most creative, beautiful and individual I ever made.
What do you think about the idea of giving something extremely personal and individual for Christmas? Have you already created something yourself for some of your beloved ones? I’m looking forward to your comments!
